Hello, thank you for visiting my website. I'm Jennifer, a professional, entrepreneur, self-care advocate, and servant leader. I am the Founder and CEO of The African Violet, LLC. Born and raised in Spartanburg, SC, I am a proud graduate of the University of South Carolina-Upstate, where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. My time there nurtured my passion for health, wellness, and self-care. I later pursued and earned a Master’s degree in Human Resources Development, further expanding my skill set and expertise.
After becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist, I dedicated myself to helping others live whole, healthy, and happy lives. However, in 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic halted massage practices, I felt called to pivot. That year, I launched The African Violet Tea Co., finding a new way to touch lives—without physical touch. Through tea, I aim to promote wellness, connection, and intentional self-care.
Since starting this journey, I’ve reached some incredible milestones. I’ve completed three business accelerator programs, won award money from three pitch competitions, and launched my mobile tea bar, which is now available for events of all kinds, including corporate gatherings, weddings, parties, bridal showers, and baby showers. I also host luxury tea parties and teach herbal education classes, sharing my knowledge and passion for wellness with others.
In my commitment to expanding my knowledge, I completed a program to become a Certified Master Herbalist. This certification has deepened my understanding of herbal remedies and allows me to better educate others about the healing power of herbs through my teas and workshops.
Service has always been at the heart of what I do. As an international missionary, I’ve had the privilege of traveling to Haiti, Uganda, and Kenya to support communities through evangelism, medical care, and acts of service. I also make self-care a personal priority, taking time to enjoy baking, spending quality time with my family, and staying connected to what brings me joy.
I am also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, an organization that embodies sisterhood, scholarship, and service—values that align deeply with my own mission and purpose.
Through The African Violet Tea Co., I have created a space where self-care meets community, wellness, and joy. My mission is to inspire others to live balanced, intentional, and fulfilled lives, one cup of tea at a time.
